I’ve seen 50 Cent perform in warehouses in Memphis, TN (where I’m from) decades ago and it was pure magic. His limited time residency in Las Vegas was the opposite of that. The sound was balanced poorly making it impossible to hear the performance. His hypemen were unrelenting and overbearing making it difficult to hear anything but their echos. The stage design and graphics felt like they were organized 15 minutes before the show with a Chat GPT prompt for “90’s hip hop images”. During the build up to this show, 50’s publicists suggested this would be an unforgettable night full of surprises and energy. The only surprise was the lack of energy. There was almost no crowd engagement, the calls for an “encore” began 63 minutes into the performance and he returned to do another 15 minutes before unceremoniously leaving the stage without so much as a Thank You. This was the worst live performance, for any artist, I’ve ever attended. I understand that he’s successful and doesn’t need a residency, so why do it if he doesn’t want to put any effort into it? #vegas #lasvegas #vegasstarfish #50cent #gunit #vegasshow #vegasnews
I wasn’t expecting the man to have choreography (although his backup dancers were amazing, the best part of the show by far). I’ve seen 50 three times previously, albeit 20 years ago and when I was less picky about sound quality. The biggest issue with this 50 show was the sound quality. The sound in the PH theatre is trash. The reverb overpowered the music and the microphone was so low that 50 sounded garbled and like he was slurring at times. His hype men were so loud by comparison that all you could hear were them. They were unrelenting, echoing every word of every track. 50 spoke to the audience once to say that he was going to do six shows, get paid and leave. No intent to extend. When advertising this show, he promised big surprises. The only surprises were maybe his 6 wardrobe changes and the background of poorly rendered AI art. Nothing unique or special. He was on stage for about 80% of 80 minutes and then walked out without so much as a thank you, kiss my ass or goodbye. I get that he’s not a showman, but I guess I had hopes that a show selling seats for $500+, on the Vegas Strip, would have a little more substance than the tired, low energy spectacle that was served. It felt like he didn’t want to be here after the first ten minutes. This was worth about 1/10th of what I paid to see it.
50 looking about 50 here
Fanning the Fart! lol
Seriously, you were expecting something better
Thing is,fitty was always boring, boring style, boring beats, dumb raps, his early mix tape stuff was promising.
